Age UK sells Wombles badges, calendars and Christmas cards
A new range of limited edition Wombles products is available at Age UK charity shops.
The Wombles have been working with Age UK this year to encourage people to donate unwanted items and to shop second-hand, to reduce waste that ends up in landfill.
The exclusive official merchandise consists of:
- six character pin badges (£2 each)
- a 2024 calendar (£5)
- a box of 30 Christmas cards (£5)
The badges have an embossed front surface for a 3D effect, with a choice of Great Uncle Bulgaria, Tobermory, Madame Cholet, Orinoco, Wellington and Alderney (wearing yellow dungarees rather than her usual pink dress).
The wall calendar has monthly images of the CGI characters, many taken from animated shorts that have been shared on the Wombles’ social media channels over the past few years. The 12-inch format offers a closer look at some of the details in these images. While it’s described as a 16-month calendar, so you can hang it up straight away, the first four months (September to December 2023) are combined on the first page with smaller grids.
The ‘Bumper Box’ of 30 Christmas cards has five designs with Christmas-themed illustrations, some of which have also previously appeared on social media. The greeting inside the cards is simply ‘Happy Christmas’.
In keeping with the Wombles’ sustainable culture, the calendar packaging is plastic free, with three easy-peel Kard Klasp tabs holding the pages together. The calendar is printed in the UK, and the badges are made from recycled materials and manufactured in the UK. All of the paper is FSC Mix labelled by the Forest Stewardship Council.
All proceeds will support Age UK’s vital services for older people, including the free and confidential national advice line and telephone friendship services.
