Mike Batt will be appearing at the Cambridge Film Festival on Monday 24 October.

He’ll show two brand new episodes from the forthcoming Wombles TV series for the very first time, and answer questions about the return of The Wombles.

Two classic episodes will also be screened as a warm-up.

The half-term event is part of the Family Film Festival strand, at 11am at the Arts Picturehouse.

Tickets are £4 per person, with a £1.50 booking fee per order.

The event description says:

4 episodes plus Q&A.

Keep on Wombling! Take a potter around Wimbledon Common with the Wombles as they gather and sort rubbish everyday folks leave behind. Using stop-motion animation, and charmingly narrated by Bernard Cribbins, the Wombles are a delight. In the dark of the cinema auditorium you can almost imagine you are in the underground tunnels…

And as a special treat you will be the first audience in the world to see episodes from the new series of the Wombles developed by songwriter and TV producer Mike Batt. Mike will explain how the Wombles are about to resurface…
